A Critical Review of Portfolio Assessment as an Alternative Tool in English Language Teaching Classrooms

Recent developments and issues in the education has brought radical changes way learners’ teachers alike need to reconsider about assessments, particularly ESL/EFL learning teaching classrooms. As such, alternative assessment tools are meant be worked out as solutions over traditional approaches, so that learners truly assessed for calibre of work is produced by them. Hence, this paper will delve upon portfolio an tool gauge true potential testing methods. The critically reviewed under five sub-sections with discussions being first, followed types assessments second item. Then, models implementation classrooms next, merit demit points fourth fifth items discussed respectively. critical review summed up providing some recommendations concluding remarks whole piece.
